Some Americans cannot bear the thought of not traveling and have found a way around other countries’ bans on U.S. travelers.

The Caribbean islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis are currently offering a package to four-person families for $150,000 which will include a passport and citizenship in exchange for “a real estate purchase of $200,000 that must be held for at least seven years,” says Business Insider.

According to the world’s Passport Index, Saint Kitts and Nevis’ passport allows for visa-free travel to the European Union and the UK.

Les Khan, CEO of Saint Kitts and Nevis Citizenship Investment Unit tells Bloomberg News, “In these days of COVID, when tourism is not happening, we have to find ways to create revenue to sustain our economy.”

Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, and Saint Lucia are other Caribbean countries offering the same deal, providing passports to Americans in exchange for big bucks.

Dr. Christian Kalin, an executive at London-based passport broker firm Henley & Partners tells Robb Report, “‘Investment migration’ has shifted from being about living the life you want in terms of holidays and business travel to a more holistic vision that includes healthcare and safety.”

Henley & Partners reveals there has been a 42% increase in citizenship applications since the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the United States has a passport backlog of 1.5 million in it’s processing lineup.

If you want to travel internationally in the near future, it will come at a steep price.
